This person is shown as the "father" of Solmund. It seems more certain from other sources that Margad (Eckmarcach) was the father of Solmund - although Ashley skips a generation and shows Margad as the father of Gilleadamnan (whom is shown in this database as the grandson of Margad). Since neither Mearrdha or Margat show a spouse, I have supposed the conflict could be resolved if Mearrdha were female, rather than male - and the wife of Margad. So that is how I have set it for now, until proven otherwise. (IJL - Mar 2001)
